‘Cuse will welcome fans to the Dome this fall at full capacity

Some good news for sports fans at Syracuse University.

Syracuse University Athletics plans to allow full capacity of the Carrier Dome this fall without social distancing. In accordance with New York State’s indoor facility guidelines, vaccinated and unvaccinated fans are welcome to attend games.

As per state guidelines, fans will be required to show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

Those who are not vaccinated will need to undergo an antigen-type test within six hours of entry and a PCR-type test result should be taken within 72 hours of entry.

Additionally, as per CDC guidelines, masks will be required for unvaccinated fans over the age of four.

Outdoor sporting events will not require proof of vaccination for entry, but unvaccinated visitors must wear a mask when on campus

University officials said they will continue to work closely with the Onondaga County Department of Health and the New York State Department of Health to monitor and implement any changes made. public health guidelines.

The League’s football and basketball teams played home games in the Carrier Dome last season without fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Major upgrades have been made to the stadium, highlighted by the largest video board hanging in the varsity sports center, air conditioning, new audio system, new modern lighting, renovated concession stands, refreshed menu items, improved restrooms and branded upgrades throughout the property.

Syracuse University’s 2021 football season begins on September 4 in Ohio, with the home opener on September 11 against Rutgers.
