Four wanted in the assault on Freetown

FREETOWN – Police are looking for four suspects in an assault that took place Saturday night in the village of Assonet.

Freetown Police said shortly before 9 p.m. on Saturday, two men and a woman were walking down South Main Street when they were assaulted by four white men in a dark car near the bandstand and the four corners.

The victims were chased down Elm Street, where a confrontation took place, police said.

Police described one of the suspects as being between 25 and 30 years old and around five feet seven inches tall with long, light brown or blonde curly hair. He was wearing khaki-colored shorts.

Another suspect of the same age was described as being around five feet 10 inches tall with short, trendy dark brown hair, a goatee and wearing a tank top.

Police say the car has been described as an older dark-colored four-door sedan – possibly a Toyota Corolla or similar – with spare red lights up front.

Anyone with information about the incident, suspects or the vehicle is urged to contact Freetown Police Detective Shane Kelley at (508) -763-4017 or [email protected]
