Paris – Sodexo announces that it has reached an agreement to acquire Frontline Food Services (d/b/a Accent Food Services), a major player in the rapidly growing convenience store market in North America. The closing of the acquisition is subject to the usual regulatory processes; approval is expected in the coming months.

Following the acquisition of food technology start-up Foodee and curated kitchen model Nourish.Inc in the United States in 2021, and the continued expansion of The Good Eating Company, Sodexo has reached another major milestone in its food transformation strategy.

With the acquisition of Frontline, Sodexo will expand its multi-channel offerings, including click n’ collect, take-out, delivery, convenience store concepts, micro-markets, self-service pantries, office refreshments and smart dispensers. This latest move by Sodexo reflects the acceleration of its “any food, anytime, anywhere” strategy. This B2B2C strategy goes beyond the traditional on-site model and offers multi-channel food offers aimed at directly meeting the varied needs of consumers.

With the acquisition of Frontline, we can better adjust our offerings quickly – for example, shifting from cafe sales to service to micro-markets seamlessly as the needs of our customers and their customers change over time. Sodexo’s ability to be agile is paramount; this acquisition also allows us to meet this need.” said Sodexo North America President Sarosh Mistry.

The acquisition of Frontline by Sodexo not only strengthens the structuring of Sodexo’s food offering in the United States, but also expands its geographical footprint in North America. Already well positioned in East and West Coast hubs, this acquisition expands Sodexo’s reach into the Mid-Atlantic, Texas, Arizona, Nevada and more.

Frontline started as a family owned vending machine business in central Texas. Over the years, the company has grown to become one of the largest independent convenience carriers in the United States with an operational footprint in the Mid-Atlantic, Southwest and West Coast. . Frontline offers a full menu of refreshment solutions, including vending machines, self-service payment markets, office cafe, pantry and catering service to thousands of customers, providing customer service and superior innovation.

Ken Sullivan, President and CEO of Frontline Food Services, said“Frontline has been serving Sodexo accounts for over a decade and over the years a strong partnership has been built. Today, we are proud to join the Sodexo family, a group whose ambitious vision is to reinvent foodservice across North America Sodexo and Frontline’s shared passion for creating great consumer experiences through great food, great service and great technology makes this acquisition a real win for employees and customers of our organization..
