WILMINGTON, Del. – Solenis, one of the world’s leading producers of specialty chemicals, is partnering with Pulpex Limited and its global consortium partners to collaborate on the continued evolution of the environmentally friendly Pulpex paper bottle.
Pulpex is a leading new sustainable packaging technology company established by business management company Pilot Lite and spirits producer Diageo. The company developed the world’s first widely recyclable PET-free paper bottle made from sustainably sourced pulp.
As a technology partner, Solenis will provide chemical solutions to optimize the PET-free paper bottle, including surface treatments to improve its functional and visual properties. Pulpex technology enables embossing, embossing, labeling and direct printing with food-safe colored pigments and dyes to meet branding needs.

Pulpex consortium partners are working on the development of branded paper bottles in several categories, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; liquid foods; home care, personal care and consumer health products; and lubricants. Pulpex is also working on adding the ability to store carbonated and hot-fill drinks by the end of 2022.
