CELAYA, MEXICO — Industrias Bachoco SAB de CV (Bachoco) has entered into an agreement to acquire, through its OK Foods subsidiary, Albertville Quality Foods (AQF), a supplier of value-added protein products for the catering, retail and national accounts. . Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

“With this acquisition, we will continue to grow our business in the United States, primarily with further processed products,” said Rodolfo Ramos, Managing Director of Bachoco. “We are confident that we will be able to quickly integrate this company into our current operations and capitalize on the opportunities and synergies we have identified.”

Bachoco expects the acquisition to close in a short period of time, the company said.

With annual sales of approximately $270 million, AQF operates two facilities totaling 147,000 square feet.

“We currently produce several proteins and vegetables on six frying lines, two IQF lines and two manual grading operations,” AQF said on its website. The company specializes in hand sizing, portioning, marinating, breading and frying.

Industrias Bachoco is a producer and processor of poultry and other food products. OK Foods, a unit of Oklahoma City-based Bachoco, makes fully cooked chicken products.
